Island born Chef Cherie Burns has 20 years of experience in the gourmet food industry out front and in the kitchen.

As well as being a 2005 graduate of the Culinary Institute of Canada Chef Cherie has a background in gourmet retail stemming from her time in Toronto.  A great lover of food, Cherie brings her passion for fresh flavours and local fare to the table while adding her distinct flair to classic dishes.

You can be sure that she puts out each plate with thought and care all in hope of enhancing your experience here at the Shipwright Inn.

At the Shipwright Inn we believe in starting the day in the best possible way with a great breakfast.  Our dining room allows for our guests to have breakfast on their own table or to enjoy the company of others. We use, wherever possible, local Island produce and shop daily to ensure freshness.  Our friendly staff are always available to answer any questions you may have at Breakfast time and will always help in planning your day.  We bake cakes and pastries on a daily basis. We try, wherever possible, to accommodate specific dietary requirements so please let us know, in advance, if you have allergies or are following a specific diet. For those who have an early tee-off or departure a ‘breakfast to go’ can be made up for you to take with you.  (Please allow 24 hours notice. ) To complete the experience our menu changes each day so you are always able to enjoy a different breakfast during your stay.
